EvoEco Lab

Our research group focuses on studying variation in behaviour. Different individuals (or genotypes) of the same population express different behaviour, which is defined as animal personality. The extent of such variation can further relate to life history and affect population dynamics. We ask questions about evolutionary and ecological implications of behavioural differences among individuals. In addition, we are also studying social evolution and sexual conflict. We study these topics using a quantitative genetic approach and conduct experiments in the field and laboratory. 우리 진화생태학 연구실에서는 차이(variation)를 연구하고 있습니다. 같은 종 내에서도 개체 또는 유전형에 따라 행동을 비롯한 여러 형질은 다르게 나타날 수 있으며, 그 차이의 정도는 형질의 진화에 영향을 주게 됩니다. 우리 연구실은 소금쟁이와 귀뚜라미 등 작은 곤충을 연구 대상으로 이용하여, 개체 간 행동 차이를 의미하는 동물의 성격 행동이 생태적 조건과 어떻게 상호작용하며 진화에 영향을 주는지를 연구하고 있습니다. 이와 더불어 사회적 행동의 진화, 암컷과 수컷 간의 진화적 갈등도 연구 주제로 다루고 있습니다. 이러한 연구를 위해서 우리 연구실은 양적유전학(quantitative genetics)에서 사용되는 통계법을 행동생태학에 적용시키는 진화생물학의 최신 방법론을 사용하며 실험실과 야외에서 실험을 진행하고 있습니다. 우리 연구실에서 다루는 연구 주제, 현재 진행되고 있는 프로젝트, 연구 성과 등을 홈페이지에서 살펴보세요!
